It was the time of rock and roll and country music singers with the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley, The Bee Gees, The Supremes and Bob Dylan

From California, New York to England the music had changed a generation of young people.

The sixties and seventies, were a time when the young teenagers, who didn't want to conform to the ideas of their parents and the establishment, left their homes to go to California and the promise lands of San Francisco and Greenwich Village.

They listened to the groups like The Jefferson Airplane, the Grateful Dead and took drugs, like LSD, and mescaline which sent them to new highs.

The musical revolution begun in England, with groups like The Beatles, The Kinks with their song, "You Really Got Me" and also The Rolling Stones with their super songs like, "I Can't Get No Satisfaction", "Ruby Tuesday", and "It's All Over Now".

It also began in America, with the University of Berkeley and Haight-Ashbury, where thousands of hippies and poets gathered in the coffee houses of North Beach, in the Bay of San Francisco.

Continuing with rock and roll and country music singers, from the millions of records issued each year, a small but select number go on to become the great hits, the records or CDs that are enormously successful from the moment they hit the air. Some perhaps took awhile to build, but eventually they establish themselves as three minute summaries of the musical taste of their time.

Here you can find the biography of Barbra Steisand, B.B. King, Bette Midler, Chuck Berry, Dick Clark, Jerry Lee Lewis.

Jerry Lee was a prodigy, when rock came into being in the fifties and the excitement he generated, helped carry rock and roll to the heights. It was called a craze, a fad which would die like other fads before it...and for a while the critics, the dissenters, appeared right, but only for a while. The young demanded their music and rock and roll came back stronger than before.
