Beginning with Bee Gees biography, they were born in England and in 1958 the Gibb Family moved to Brisbane Australia, where the brothers Barry, Andy, Robin and Maurice, performed at the local night clubs. They performed under several names, including the "Blue Cats" and the "Rattle Snakes". They signed their first record deal with Festival Records in 1962 under the name of, The Bee Gees releasing the song "Three Kisses Of Love". In 1967, they moved back to England and made their first big hit with the song, "Massachusetts". From 1967 to 1969, they released other popular songs such as, "To Love Somebody, Holiday, I've Got to Get a Message to You, Word's" and "I Started a Joke" and many other singles. Continuing with the Bee Gees biography, in 1970, they released the single hit, "Lonely Days" and in 1971, they released the single, "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart". From 1971 to 1975, the songs they released, were not very good hits. In 1976, they released the hit songs, "You Should Be Dancing" and "Love So Right". The group participated in the sound track for "Saturday Night Fever" a movie that was being made. The album broke record sales with songs such as, "Staying Alive, How Deep Is Your Love" and "Night Fever". They appeared in the movie, "Sgt.Peppers Lonely Hearts Band". Continuing with the Bee Gees biography, the group became more popular than ever before, even outselling the Beatles. Barry Gibb wrote the title song to the movie "Grease" and also had record hits with the songs like, "Tragedy, Too Much Heaven" and "Love You Inside Out". In 1968, they had two major hit songs with "World" and "I Gotta Get A Message To You". In 1970, the band began debuting a new pop rock sound and hit the American Charts with "Lonely Days" and "How can you Mend A Broken Heart". In 1979, they released the album, "Spirits Have Flown". Continuing with the Bee Gees biography, in 1981, they released the album, "Living Eyes". Barry Gibb did a duet with
Barbra Streisand
with the hit "Guilty" and sang and wrote the song titled," Heartbreaker" with Dionne Warwick.
The brothers also wrote the song, "Islands in The Stream" for Kenny Rogers and
Dolly Parton.
 
The Bee Gees biography continues, in 1987 they released the song titled, "You Win Again" which became a very big hit in the U.K. In March of 1988, Andy Gibb died of a heart ailment. He was only thirty years old. Over their careers, they earned five Grammy Awards and in 1994, all three were inducted into the, Song Writers Hall Of Fame. In 1997, they were inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
In 2002, Queen Elizabeth honored, Barry, Robin and Maurice as Commanders of the British Empire. Maurice Gibb, who had been the instrumental leader of the group died on January 12, 2003. He had been admitted to Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami after suffering from a cardiac arrest. The Bee Gees biography continues, after the death of Maurice Gibb the remaining brothers decided, they would no longer use the name of the Bee Gees again. They had nine no 1 songs and sold more than 100 million records. In 2005, North Miami council man Scott Galvin presented Barry with a commemorative sign for the "Brothers Gibb Boulevard" in North Miami that had been renamed in 2004, for Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. In 2005, the city of Miami Beach is building a Memorial Park at Middle Beach, which will be called the "Maurice Gibb Memorial Park". It will be a landscaped plaza with mosaic flooring, featuring a bronze plaque and a granite sign in memory of Maurice Gibb. In 2006, Barry and Robin Gibb reunited for a charity concert in Miami, for The Diabetes Reseach Insitute. It was their first performance together since the death of their brother Maurice.
