Carrie Underwood biography

Beginning with Carrie Underwood biography, she was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on March 10, 1983. She later spent her younger years in Checotah

Her mother was a school teacher, her father Stephen worked in a paper mill and has now retired after more than 30 years in the same job.

She has two older sisters, Shanna and Stephanie who are school teachers like their mother who has also retired from teaching.

Carrie sang in the church and at the Lion's Club in Checotah. She graduated from High School at eighteen years old.

In 2005, she auditioned for American Idol and was crowned as winner in May of 2005.

In 2006, she graduated from the Northeastern State University in Tahlequah.

In November 2006, she released the album, "Some Hearts" which became a number one country hit in the U.S.A.

In Dec 2006, Carrie did a tour at Camp Adder for the American Troops in Iraq.

In 2007, she was nominated by the Academy of Country Music Awards for the top female vocalist.

In april of 2007, Carrie Underwood won the CMT Music Awards for Female Video of the Year for the Song Before He Cheats and also Video of the Year for the song, Before He Cheats.
