Beginning with Randy Travis biography, his real name was Randy Traywick.

He was born on the 4th of May 1959, in Marshville, North Carolina.

He Listened to Georges Jones and Hank Williams when he was very young and got some of his singing styles from them.

Randy dropped out of school in the ninth grade and started to drink and take drugs, but by the age of eighteen he became more serious about life.

He moved to Nashville in 1981, where he work with his future wife who was manager for the Nashville Palace. He did more work as a cook and dishwasher than as a singer. He sang in the club at the end of the day and the customers went wild for his music.

Continuing with Randy Travis biography, in 1985, he released the single, "On The Other Hand".

In 1986, he released the album titled, "Storms of Life".

In 1986, he became the youngest singer to join the Grand Ole Opry

In 1987, he won the Country Music Award for male vocalist of the year for the single, "Forever and Ever". He also won the award for the album of the year titled, "Always and Forever".

In 1990, he did a few duets with Dolly Parton and Merle Haggard with the album titled, "Hero's and Friends".

In 1992, he released two albums titled, "Greatest Hits One and Two" which became blockbusters.

In 1994, he released the single, "Whisper My Name".

In 1996, he released the album titled, "Full Circle".

In 1999, Randy released the single, "A Man Ain't Made of Stone".

In 2002, he released a gospel album titled, "Inspirational Journey".

In 2003, he won a Grammy Award for his song, "Wooden Crosses".
