In Ritchie Valens biography, he was born on the 13th of May, 1941 in Pacoima, California. His real name was Richard Valenzuela and he was an Mexican American singer. He started to play the spanish guitar at the young age of nine. When he was seventeen he was hired by Bob Keene from Del Fi Recording, and he recorded the single, "Come On Let's Go" which sold nearly one million copies. While he was going to school he went out with his girl friend Donna Ludwig. In 1958 he recorded,the song hit, "Donna" which he wrote for Donna Ludwig and it became his first hit to sell well over a million copies. At the same time he released the song "La Bamba" which also became a million dollar hit. Ritchie Valens biography continues, he was killed in an air plane crash with Buddy Holly , the Big Bopper (Jiles Richardson) and the pilot of the plane Roger Petterson. They had been playing at the Surf Ballroom at Clear Lake, Iowa. They chartered a Beech-craft Bonanza airplane and flew off near midnight, on the 2nd of February 1959 from Mason City Airport, to Fargo, North Dakota.
